“I know this because I am Sarah.” – report from I Wish I’d Thought of That (#IWITOT) 2020
Regular readers of these posts will know that I'm a big fan of #IWITOT, the event at which fundraisers present about ideas by other fundraisers they wish they'd thought of.
It works so well because it joyfully showcases our passion for our sector, and also neatly avoids the "humble brags" of so many other events, when we talk about our own work.
Would it work as a virtual event, though? Well, the answer was a huge and resounding "YES", though I did miss the thunderous applause that each speaker gets when the event is held in real life.
As ever, my notes from all of the speakers can be found below. Please do read and enjoy, and come along to the next one!
There were so many excellent presentations and my notes for all of them are below: Jess Winchester spoke about the oldest campaign document, Moses's building of the tabernacle; Jennifer Ruthe about charity shops; Chloe Green on Minus18 versus bigots; Lyndall Stein on Refugee Tales; Diveesha Shahani on Shower Boxes; Julie Berthoud-Jury on how the RNLI practise #donorlove; Felicity Spencer-Smith on the Sumatran Orangutan Socieity's Concrete Jungle campaign; Lara Joyce on Action for Children's Secret Santa campaign; Tahera Mayat on Hidden Replies; Mike Bartlett on The Big Issue; Erin McGuire on the Great Cycle Challenge; and Saleem Tejani on Kid Power's wearable tech for good.
These were all great presentations, but here's a bit more about my own top five:
